WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR CONSULTATION

  • Referral letter
  • Medicare card
  • Method of payment
  • Pensioner Concession card
  • DVA Gold card
  • List of medications

REFERRAL

Medicare benefits are payable only if you have a written referral from your referring doctor (usually your GP) addressed to Dr Starritt.  Please bring your referral letter to your initial consultation or ensure that it has been received prior to your consultation.

FEES

Fees are payable immediately following your consultation. When you call for your initial consultation with Dr Starritt the consultation fees will be outlined to you.

There will be additional fees for procedures such as skin biopsy or removal of a mole or skin cancer for example. In general, you will receive about one third to a half back from Medicare.  You will be given a quote for more complex surgery, laser treatment and cosmetic procedures. Medicare does not provide a rebate for cosmetic procedures and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) applies.

Discounts apply for those holding a Pensioner Concession Card.  This does not apply to those holding Health Care Cards or Commonwealth Seniors Health Cards.  Veterans and their widows or dependents with a Gold Card issued by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) will have their account sent directly to DVA and will not be required to pay on the day.

LIST OF MEDICATIONS

It is helpful if you bring with you a list of your current and recent medications as knowledge of these may be important in your care.
